PS4 owners rejoice!
Tai Yasue co-director of Kingdom Hearts 2.5 HD Remix and Kingdom Hearts III let us know that Square Enix hasn't deconfirmed a PS4 release. In an interview with IGN Yasue expressed that SquareEnix planned to release 1.5 HD and 2.5 HD Remix to pave the path for newcomers to the franchise. The possibility of a PS4 release is also mentioned.
"When we first came up with the idea for Kingdom Hearts III, it was always 1.5, then 2.5 and we were always thinking about those three titles at the same time," he explains. "I think [putting the games on PS4] is something we’ll explore. We understand what our players want, so we will explore the possibility. I’m not making any announcements though, we can’t make any announcements yet!"
While an Xbox One version is also possible, porting the game would take more time and resources than a PS4 release.
