Currently the base systems seem to be solidified and while Kitase won't reveal more information at the moment, he strongly feels Tetsuya Nomura and Mitsunori Takahasi are putting their all into it.
Kitase hopes to reveal more on the Final Fantasy VII Remake this year, with hopes of a playable portion available as a demo (or at least a trailer) at an upcoming event.
When Famitsu asked him about a possible Final Fantasy VI remake, Yoshinori let us know that while the staff within the company are clamoring for it, they're currently focusing on completing the large task that is the Final Fantasy VII Remake.
After all, one masterpiece can only be in development at a time, right guys? Final Fantasy VI is defined by many as the best entry in the series.
We wouldn't want to see another half baked effort similar to the mobile port. We're so ready to see more of the Final Fantasy VII Remake later on this year.
