Many of these publishers and developers have been responsible for great titles such as The Elder Scrolls, Kingdom Hearts, Street Fighter, Final Fantasy, Call of Duty and the list just keeps going. The question seems to be if we will ever have full third party support on a Nintendo system. Nintendo hasn't had full third party support since the days of the Super Nintendo and every system after that was a mixed bag.
You may say the Wii came the closest when Nintendo single handily won the generation becoming the highest selling consoles ever, only second to the original Playstation and Playstation 2. However the Wii only received games developed for the Playstation and Xbox and was easily not the best version when compared to its counterparts.
Nintendo has a chance to change this with the Nintendo NX. It may be time for Nintendo to release a system similar in archtecture to the Playstation 4 and Xbox One so they don't miss out on third party releases. It's easy to say that Nintendo has excellent first party titles, and usually first party titles are the system sellers. The issue is that by alienating third parties, you're not only limited your sales but creating an image that you need to buy a system other than the NX.
In our opinion, if Nintendo wants third party support, they're going to need make the NX the one console you want in your living room in 2016. It may be too late however, the Playstation 4 has easily become the next big thing to own this generation.
