With the announcement of the Final Fantasy VII Remake, the question comes to mind. Which other Final Fantasy title should be remade next? Square-Enix have strongly teased a Final Fantasy 12 remaster in the past, so we think it's safe to say it's coming. Our next focus shifts to Final Fantasy titles of the past.
Final Fantasy IV has had countless remakes and ports including 2011's fantastic PSP title, Final Fantasy IV: The Complete Collection. With that in mind while we'd love to see a full HD remake of Final Fantasy IV, we believe the PSP collection delivers the game at its best. Up next is obviously Final Fantasy V and VI.
Now this is where it gets interesting, both Final Fantasy V and VI are excellent games. In our opinion, we'd like to see a remake of Final Fantasy V or VI come up next. Getting to see the classic scenes from each title in full HD would be more than amazing. We feel it would be more interesting to see 2D Final Fantasy game remade into 3D.
This just leaves Final Fantasy IX. There's no denying the greatness of Final Fantasy IX, traveling the world as a monkey human protagonist never felt so great. The issue at hand are the so-so character personalities. While some characters like Zidane and Vivi are well written, we feel some of the other characters just fell flat. It's also worth to mention that if Square-Enix did in fact remake these games, the combat would change , most likely similar to the Final Fantasy VII remake. Which game do you feel this combat system fits best?
