I'm really feeling it
Earlier today Nintendo released their latest Nintendo Direct revealing how combat works in Xenoblade Chronicles X.

If you played the original Xenoblade Chronicles, it has the same principles but with a few changes to better the experience.

Skills still have cool-downs but now have meter around the skill icon indicating the strength of the art. You may use an art as soon as it's off cool down, but it's best to wait for maximum damage.

Another big change is the "Overclock Gear" system. When activated it allows you to continuous cast arts one after another with no cool-down time.

Each time an art is used in this state it's damage is added to a counter. The higher the counter reaches , the higher damage your arts will pull off.
Xenoblade Chronicles X also features the ability break off pieces off monsters. Very similar to how the system works in Monster Hunter. Using a particular weapon or targeting a certain body part will give you a better chance of getting the piece. Once broken there is a higher chance of acquiring special items as well.

Just like Xenoblade their are symbols above each monster which indicate how they will react when attacked. Some monsters attack in hordes, others only aggro by sound, and others only by sight.

The overworld in Xenoblade Chronicles X features many powerful monsters. Running away may be the best tactic when exploring, or else you may face certain death!

Xenoblade Chronicles X is slated to released April 29, 2015 in Japan for Wii U. The game will also launch in North America and Europe later this year.
