"Making changes is not unusual when we localize games, and we have indeed made changes in these games. When we localize a game we do so in order to make it appropriate for that particular territory. All our choices were made from that point of view."
Overall this means games that have questionable content may be altered for a different audience when releasing in the western market. These changes come to no surprise as Nintendo of America aims to focus on Nintendo being a family focused brand with games for all ages. While we see no problem with these localization changes, you may disagree with our opinion.
