It seems not everybody on the internet is a fan of Jim Sterling, most known for his Youtube series, The Jimquisition. Individuals that seemed to be posing as Digital Homicide took to Tumblr by harassing and threatening Jim by stating not only does he responsible for copyright infringement, but is also showing people how to access Jim's personal address.
Sterling has released a statement on the thinly veiled threat, as expected he is rather unhappy about his personal information potentially being in the hands of anybody.
Jim, this isn't so much a question as much as a warning. Recently, this Tumblr came up (apparently from the Digital Homicide as it was on their "JIm Flips the Bird" Tumblr): http://jimdoxeshimself.tumblr.com/ As a concerned fan, I think you need to watch out. This is quite alarming.
If Digital Homicide or any other number of "indie developers" with a grudge think this is f***ing intimidating, they can think again. This is of course a very thinly veiled threat, the line about indie developers "finding" me makes that quite abundantly clear.Maybe one of these cowardly f***s can actually make good on the legal threats they're always promising, or better yet, actually come knockin' right on my front door. I'm clearly easy to find, and I'd love to have a nice face-to-face chat. Something tells me I'll never actually *see* the face of one of these craven little s***s, though.
This is alarming, most definitely. The level of obsession exhibited by the makers of these anonymous Tumblr blogs (which were pretty much confirmed to be James and Robert Romine after they exposed themselves on Twitter) is creepy and unsettling. But they're dumber than I thought possible if they think this'll stop me covering their shit little games.I'm still waiting for that cease and desist letter, Mr. Romine.
Since this time, Jim has been contacted by Digital Homicide and posted how he believes that they are suffering from a fraudulent act. When asked how he felt about Digital Homicide's Reddit post, he replied,
I received an email directly, and yes. This in conjunction with some other stuff today has given me enough doubt to find it reasonable DH is the victim of a frame job. I don't 100% know, and I am inclined to believe Digital Homicide in this instance, and I'll even say I respect their spine in not only approaching me, but directly tackling stuff on Reddit.Of course, what this means is that there's someone even creepier out there, with even less grip on reality, trying to f*** with my life. Which is... not ideal.
So after reviewing this evidence, we feel that the developers of Digital Homicide are not to blame. We apologize for any confusion this may have caused to fans.
