While initially we thought Dragon Quest Heroes to be devoid of depth we were delighted to find we were wrong. Strategic character placement along with knowing when to use your abilities is required. This particular boss battle against Gigantes managed to stump many convention goers, with only eight players managing to defeat him. The games crafting, quests and character progression are also surprisingly fun as I found myself playing the demo multiple times on the show floor.
"So a lot of people look at Dragon Quest Heroes in the Musao [Dynasty Warriors] kind of genre, but it's actually alot deeper in terms of strategy, in terms of customization."
Overall Dragon Quest Heroes is an enjoyable action RPG with elements inspired by Dynasty Warriors. If you're a fan of Dragon Quest and are looking for something different, Dragon Quest Heroes may be a good fit for you.
