I was given the opportunity to interview Duane and Brand0. It's clear these guys are both extremely talented and masters of their craft.
Game Rampage: Hey Duane and Brando! Would you mind introducing yourself to our readers on Gamerampage.net? What are some of your new goals now that you're back together?
Brando: Hey Gamerampage! We're Duane & Brando. We cover video game songs and rap over it like a couple of jerks.
Duane: One new goal is to strengthen our friendship, and try new things musically. To have new adventures.
Game Rampage: With your most popular song being Mega Man 2, do you guys have plans to do any other Mega Man songs? (Action Adventure World's) Mega Man 6 with The Plasmas was sweet!
Brando: Megaman 9 has been on hold since 2010. We hope to finish it eventually, but in order to do so, we have to build up enough steam so it doesn't suck.
Brando: No spoilers!
Duane: Green bacon.
Game Rampage: Earthbound was / is a HUGE project that never seemed to get 100% finished. Do you guys have plans to fully flesh out Earthbound?
Brando: We never do something unless we're feeling it, and you know how it is... sometimes you're just not in an Earthbound mood and would rather play something else for a while. We do, however, love Earthbound, and are planning a Runaway Five EP after we release Mario 3.
Game Rampage: If you guys could pick one game to get a perfect sequel in the near future , what game would it be?
Brando: Cheetahmen 2.
Game Rampage: If money were no objection, which developer would you team up with to have your music added into the game?
Brando: If I were to have my original music put into a game, I would probably contact Yacht Club. Or Cellar Door. Or Konami. I'd love to score a 2D Castlevania.
Brando: It is regretful that the public was drawn into our personal crap. We plan on building our fanbase yet bigger still and hope all the talks of our split become overshadowed by the amounts of ass-kicking we plan on doing
Duane: (We reunited) because we're brothers, and brothers gotta hug.
Brando: We wouldn't work with each other disingenuously. If we were able to do such a thing, we wouldn't have split up.
Brando: Mario 3. I always enjoy the one I'm currently working on the most.
Duane: All of them seemed to blur into one fun game that we would play. Battletoads is still my favorite song.
Game Rampage: How did it feel to have completed a successful Kickstarter campaign? It must have felt good knowing you guys were still relevant to your fans after the split.
Duane: Indescribably incredible. Relevance has never been something I've had second thoughts about. This isn't a genre, it's a community.
Brando: Incredibly indescribable. I've never doubted our relevancy or the love. Nerd power!
Duane & Brando: No comment
Game Rampage: The Remastered LP of Devastation is great. However we can't help but ask , do you have any solid release dates for any new stuff?
Brando: Mario 3 should be out next month, followed by the Runaway Five EP, which will be a tribute to the blues done in the style of the fictional band of the same name. Nothing ever has a solid release date. We put all the love into everything we do. Quality > quantity.
Game Rampage: Is there any message you wish to tell our readers? What message are you trying to send with Duane and Brando?
Brando: Stop trying to be all cool and stuff and just be yourself or whatever.
Duane: Green bacon.
