Tyrael is a melee hero who excels in initiation , chasing down enemy heros and protecting his allies. With the right build Tyrael can be an unstoppable force on the battlefield. So without further a due, let's break down Tyreal.
Using this skill properly shows the difference between a good Tyreal and a great one, so be sure to practice before hopping into the fray. While El'Druin's Might is a fantastic skill, it shouldn't be used for harassment without consideration due to it's long cooldown and mana cost.
Smite is Tyrael's bread and butter ability. With a cheap mana cost , good AOE damage, and a short cooldown, Smite is a fantastic skill in Tyrael's arsenal. This skill should be your go to for harassment, clearing creep waves and speeding up yourself and your allies toward fleeing champions or objectives.
While counterproductive , Tyreal's passive Archangel's Wrath allows Tyrael to explode on death after a few seconds for massive damage. If you're familiar with League of Legends, this passive is similar to Kog Maws.
Lastly we have Tyrael's Ultimate ability Judgement. This skill is nothing short of amazing and is arguably the absolute best hard initiation in the game. After a small channel Tyrael races to the enemy target crashing into them and stunning them for 1.5 seconds. During the crash other enemies are also knocked away from his target taking a small chunk of damage. While Tyrael's second ultimate ability Sanctification is a worthy second choice, it just can't live up to the impact Judgement has in a team fight.
When you reach level 7 Zealotry is the best choice, this trait effectively doubles Tyrael's shield duration ensuring each shield gets used to it's maximum potential. At level 10, there is simply no better choice than Judgement. Nothing beats the feeling of working with your team mates while rendering the enemy hero of your choice useless. More healing comes with Angelic Absorption, at level 13 this trait works together with Zealotry healing you for a small amount each time you're hit while shielded.
Reaching level 16 leads us to Salvation. Tyrael gains an extra 25% to his shielded damage for each ally shielded. If used properly this can make Tyrael's shield even stronger making him extremely durable. Finally at level 20 we have access to Hardened Shield giving him the ability to reduce all damage taken by 24% for 4 seconds. With these trait choices you should have no issue becoming a formidable fighter to any opponent.
